District 8: East Fallowfield, Vernon, Greenwood, Union, and Fairfield townships in Crawford County.
Northwestern REC holds nominating meetings in the early spring time. In 2023, the following Cooperative member was elected to serve as District 8 director. Her term will last three years. Elections take place June ~ August and are announced at the Annual Meeting.
Marian Davis
A graduate of McKeesport High School, Marian Davis has lived in Vernon Township for 55 years and has been a member of Northwestern Rural Electric Cooperative Association for 51 years.
Mrs. Davis is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Meadville, Pa., where she was a participant on the church’s council, and she currently serves as the chairwoman of the Worship and Music Committee. In addition, Marian volunteers at the Soup Kitchen of Meadville and is part of the Women of the ELCA. In the past, Marian was involved with 4-H, having served as Horse and Pony Club leader. She also created the Interstate Exchange Club to assist young people in broadening their horizons through travel and hospitality. Mrs. Davis is a past president of the Inter-county Horseman’s Assoc., a past member of the 4-H Advisory Board, and served on the board of the Tri-State Saddle Horse Breeders Assoc., Inc.
Mrs. Davis is the previous owner/operator of Perkins Family Restaurant in Franklin, Pa., The Waterfront Restaurant in Franklin, Pa., The Franklin Depot, and The Stag Bar in Meadville, Pa. Marian was a USPS sub-rural mail carrier, and she believes this experience has allowed her to connect with people and truly understand those who live more rurally. She has served as chairwoman of the Crawford County Fair’s Home Products annual luncheon and as a past president of the Meadville Bulldogs Football Boosters. She is currently a member of the Looking Ahead breast cancer support group and the Vernon Central Fire Department.
Marian and her late husband, Bob, were married for nearly 60 years. They are the proud parents of three children and have been blessed with four grandchildren. A strong family foundation has always been the focus for Marian, as she and Bob strived to make the best life possible for their children. Marian and her children all live on Mullen Road and routinely contribute to the family farm.
