We invite the members of Northwestern Rural Electric Cooperative and other residents of the communities we serve to join us as we celebrate 90 years of cooperation.
On Saturday, Aug. 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., we’ll host our 90th Anniversary Celebration at the cooperative headquarters, 22534 Hwy. 86, Cambridge Springs, PA 16403.
Enjoy live music by Salmon Frank, face painting by Taradoodles, food vendors, hot line safety demonstrations, touch-a-truck opportunities, and guided tours of our new garage.
Take a ride in a bucket truck (with signed waiver), ride on the Argo extreme terrain vehicle, and watch pole-setting demonstrations.
Join Troy Firth, co-founder and forester for the Foundation for Sustainable Forests, for guided walks in the Northwestern REC Community Forest at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
We will have giveaways throughout the day, and the first 1,500 members who donate a nonperishable food item, school supplies, or a brand-new toy will receive a special 90th anniversary insulated cooler bag. Food collected will be distributed the Center for Family Services Food Pantry in Meadville, school supplies will be donated to Associated Charities in Titusville, and toys will be donated to Taradoodles Toybox, a nonprofit that provides gifts for children in need. Keep an eye on future issues of Penn Lines and on our website and social media for details to be announced.
We hope you’ll be able to join us.
