District 6: Athens, Rome, Oil Creek, Steuben, and Troy townships and Centerville Borough in Crawford County and Southwest and Eldred townships in Warren County.

Northwestern REC holds nominating meetings in the early spring time. In 2023, the following Cooperative member was elected to serve as District 6 director. His term will last three years. Elections take place before the Annual Meeting.

David "Earl" Snyder

David "Earl" Snyder, Board Vice Chair

David "Earl" Snyder was born and raised near Shanksville, Somerset County, PA. He graduated from Shanksville-Stonycreek High School in 1984. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Science from The Pennsylvania State University in 1988, which provided a solid foundation in the field. First elected to the co-op board in 2020, Earl has since achieved the Credentialed Cooperative Director certification as well as the Board Leadership certification. Earl currently serves as Vice Chair of board. 

Earl has resided in Troy Township since 1992 with his wife raising their four children. He has worked as a Senior Commercial Sales Representative for Hubbard/ADM for the past 27 years. His role involves interacting with farmers and feed suppliers in numerous ways. 

The Snyders also own a farm where they raise livestock and grow produce. They market their products at area Farmer’s Markets, showcasing their commitment to sustainable farming practices.

Earl attends Guys Mills Community Church, where he participates in various activities and contributes to the community's well-being. Outside of his professional and community endeavors, he enjoys farming, hunting, and spending time with his family. He actively supports his children and grandchildren in their pursuits, including participating in 4-H, athletics and academics, and French Creek Community Theater.
