District 7: East Fallowfield, Pine, Sadsbury, Summit, and Vernon townships in Crawford County.
Northwestern REC holds nominating meetings in the early spring time. In 2023, the following Cooperative member was elected to serve as District 7 director. Her term will last three years. Elections take place June ~ August and are announced at the Annual Meeting.
Marian Davis
Originally from the McKeesport area, Marian Davis has been a member of the Northwestern Rural Electric Cooperative Association for 57 years and a resident of Vernon Township for 64 years.
Marian is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Meadville. She has been actively engaged in the church community, serving on the church council and as the chairperson of the Worship and Music Committee. She has also contributed her time and efforts to the Soup Kitchen of Meadville and is part of the Women of ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America).
Marian has been involved in 4-H in the past, serving as a Horse and Pony Club leader. She also established the Interstate Exchange Club, which aimed to provide young people with opportunities for travel and hospitality, broadening their horizons. Marian serves on the board of directors and has been a past president of the Inter-county Horseman's Association, who honored her with a lifetime achievement awared in 2024. She serves on the board of the Penn Ohio Morgan Horse Association, having also served on the 4-H Advisory Board and on the board of the Tri-State Saddle Horse Breeders Association, Inc.
Marian's entrepreneurial spirit was showcased through a career in the the hospitality industry, having owned several restaurants in the Franklin and Meadville areas, including the Stag Bar in Meadville and the Perkins in Franklin. She also worked as a USPS sub-rural mail carrier, which provided her with a deeper understanding of rural communities and their needs.
Marian has actively participated in various community organizations and events. She served as the chair of the Crawford County Fair's Home Products annual luncheon and was a past president of the Meadville Football Boosters. Currently she is a member of the Looking Ahead breast cancer support group, Vernon Central Hose Company, and Vernon Central Hose Ladies Auxiliary.
Marian and her late husband, Bob, were married for nearly 60 years, a union that was blessed with three children and four grandchildren. A strong family foundation has always been the focus for Marian, as she and Bob strived to make the best life possible for their children.
